Allied Products was established in Baltimore in 1940 by Manny and Maurice Sokolsky. Its original business was as a drapery
distributor, but that business changed after World War II, when the company switched its focus to carpet supply distribution.
In 1974, the company was purchased by Henry Goldsmith and Bob Davison. Maurice Sokolsky continued working with the
company as a Sales Manager until 1983. Ken Wells, the current Vice-President, was hired right out of college in early 1977.
In October, 1989, Henry Goldsmith sold his interest in the company and Ken Wells became a stockholder.
In 1988,
Allied opened its first satellite location in Forestville, MD, and has since expanded to a total of eleven locations in the
Mid-Atlantic region.
